Before the release of iBooks, I went through the process of developing an independent publishing platform. Backwards Publishing would deliver novels, essays, papers, and presentations across all devices and in the form of a physical book. It included a built-in drag-and-drop ad platform, from which the author and the publisher would receive revenue. As well as a writing tool, document uploader, library, and more.
